The goal of MYTH is a five-year journey to hike the entire 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail — not all at once, but one section at a time.

Rather than attempting the entire trail in a single season, each chapter picks up exactly where the previous one ended. Over five years, those individual journeys will become one uninterrupted walk from Springer Mountain, Georgia, to Mount Katahdin, Maine.

But MYTH isn't really about hiking.
It's about replacing the myths we believe with God's truth.

Every one of us carries stories we've accepted about ourselves, others, or even about God. Things like:

“My past defines my future.”

“God could never forgive me.”

“God doesn't care about my pain.”

The Appalachian Trail provides an opportunity to step away from the distractions of our modern world and examine those beliefs. Throughout Scripture, the wilderness is often where God meets people most deeply — in places of quiet, testing, dependence, and transformation. Just as Jesus was led into the wilderness before beginning His public ministry, the wilderness remains a place where distractions fade and truth becomes easier to hear.

Mile after mile, the trail strips away the noise of everyday life and creates space to examine the myths we've believed and replace them with God's truth.

Each chapter of MYTH will explore those myths through the experiences of the trail, the people encountered along the way, and the lessons that emerge from walking through mountains, valleys, storms, and quiet places.

This isn't a race.

It's a five-year invitation for fellow travelers who want to disconnect from the noise of everyday life, reconnect with God's creation, and make space to seek His truth.

You don't have to hike all 2,200 miles.

You can join for one chapter or many. Whether you're an experienced backpacker, a first-time hiker, or simply following the journey online, you're invited to join the mission.

Because sometimes the longest journeys begin
by taking just one faithful step.
